Windsor Castle, home to over 900 years of Royal history, is a great day out for visitors to London.
The State Apartments contain some of the finest works of art from the Royal Collection and many of the pieces are still in the same historic settings for which they were first commissioned by the monarchs who have lived at Windsor.
One of the highlights of a visit to Windsor is Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House – the most beautiful and most famous dolls’ house in the world which includes a fully stocked wine cellar and a garden created by Gertrude Jekyll , along with running hot and cold water and working lifts!
Between August 1st and September 30th visitors can enjoy a guided tour to the top of Windsor’s world-famous Round Tower, and get a fascinating insight into the Castle as a working royal residence with a tour of the Great Kitchen.
Trains from Waterloo to Windsor & Eton Riverside take just under an hour. Waterloo can be easily reached by tube or bus from any of our London vacation rentals.
