There are few things more traditionally British than a cup of tea and you need look no further than Twinings’ historical shop in the heart of London to find out more about this British pastime.
The charming shop at 216 Strand is over 300 years old and famous for selling some of the best teas in the world. There is a Loose Tea Bar where you can pick up the tea, taste it and smell it and then a Sampling Counter where you can try some of your selection. Having chosen your favourites you can head to the Pick ‘n’ Mix counter to take an assortment home with you.
There is also a small museum with some fascinating tea-related artefacts.
Although small, the shop is full of rich heritage – as well as tea – and is an interesting way to spend some time for anyone interested in tea and its history.
The nearest tube station is Temple on the District and Circle lines so it is easy to reach from any of our London vacation rentals.
