This south-west facing apartment is on the top floor (there is a lift) of a private, secure block which benefits from a concierge (available Mon-Fri) – its 7th floor location means that although the sound of traffic from the street below can be heard, the noise level is fairly minimal. Views from the apartment are impressive, with the iconic Battersea Power Station visible from the French windows in the main living area.
The apartment comfortably sleeps three in one double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and one single bedroom with a second, separate, bathroom. A further person (two at a squeeze – though not ideal) can be accommodated in the living area on a small double sofa-bed that folds out from the large sofa. Towards the rear of the apartment is the living/dining area (16ft x 11ft4, 4.9m x 3.5m) which is a bright and airy space due to the large windows that overlook the city rooftops outside. There are great views of the city from the living area (from here you can see Battersea Power Station) and the room affords plenty of sunshine, from around 11am to sunset, due to its south-west facing aspect. The room is modern in style with wood laminate floors, white walls dressed with various paintings, contemporary lighting and modern furniture, including a beige leather chair, dark brown leather sofa (which can fold out into a small double sofa-bed), glass dining table seating four and oak sideboard. There is a large flat-screen TV with Freeview channels, DVD player and a sound system which can play CDs. A door opens onto a small sunny balcony with three chairs – a perfect spot for watching the world beneath you pass by. There are air-conditioning units in the living area and master bedroom and wireless internet is provided.
The very functional kitchen (8ft8 x 6ft4, 2.7m x 1.9m) can be closed off from the main living area with double glass doors and has a contemporary, sleek style with white cabinets, black granite worktops and stainless steel appliances. There is everything you will need: oven with electric hob, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher and microwave.
The master bedroom (14ft4 x 9ft3, 4.4m x 2.8m) continues the modern theme with white walls and contemporary furnishings. This room has an air-conditioning unit, sleek glass work desk and chair, wall mounted TV and a fitted wardrobe. From this room you can see the new Shard building and views of the city. There is also an en-suite bathroom with shower, basin and loo.
The single room (10ft8 x 8ft7, 3.3m x 2.7m) is also modern in style and has a chest of drawers and a small desk and chair. This room has colourful art on the walls adding character to the space.
The main bathroom is very modern in style, with grey tiled walls and floor. There is a bath with over-shower, basin and loo.
Just two minutes walk from Pimlico tube station (Victoria line), this apartment is centrally situated in a great spot for getting around the city – one stop from Victoria and three stops from Oxford Circus; everything is in easy reach. There are a range of restaurants close by – a good eatery serving Indian cuisine just a minute away and a Turkish and an Italian restaurant five minutes walk away. Art lovers can take a casual stroll to Tate Britain, less than 10 minutes away. The river Thames is next to this famous art museum and visitors are encouraged to hop aboard one of the many boats that travel along the river in order to soak up the city landmarks and buildings – it is cheaper to take one of the commuter boats as opposed to the tourist boats! Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament can be reached in under 20 minutes on foot. St James’s Park, Green Park and Buckingham Palace are all within easy walking distance.
