Despite the rather unpromising street address, this comfortable 3 bedroom house in a quiet part of Shepherd’s Bush is a little gem.

Recently fully modernised and refurbished house it’s the home of a well-known Australian theatre producer. She’s an avid collector of contemporary art, so the house is full of interesting pieces to appreciate and stimulate.

It is located in a tucked-away, quiet area of Shepherd’s Bush, with its own 49ft x 33ft (15m x 10m) secluded garden. It’s an 8 minute walk to your nearest tube station – East Acton (Central Line) and from there 15 minutes to Oxford Circus – the centre of Oxford Street, one of London’s premier shopping areas, with good connecting tube lines.

The house sleeps 6 people in 3 double bedrooms, one of which has a sofa-bed which could be deployed if sleeping arrangements require it. There are two bathrooms and an additional downstairs loo.

The front door opens onto a small hallway which immediately leads onto the large 30ft x 21ft6 (9m x 6m50) open-plan living, dining and kitchen area. 3 sets of windows and French doors giving onto the garden, together with overhead windows, make this a light and airy room. The fine wooden floor with traditional rugs combine with the modern furniture to make this an inviting space. The dining table comfortable seats 6. The kitchen has all the expected appliances. In one end of the room there’s a corner sofa and television (cable channels), in the other a red sofa, a bookcase and small decorative fireplace. Off this space is a loo and wash basin.

The first bedroom is on the ground floor. It has a 4ft6 (1m39) wide bed and its own en-suite bathroom with shower, basin and loo.

Upstairs there are two further bedrooms, the master bedroom – light and airy with 5ft (1m52) wide bed and a second double bedroom with 4ft6 (1m39) wide bed.  The master bedroom has a sofa which can convert to a bed if sleeping arrangements require. These bedrooms share a bathroom – bath + over-shower, basin and loo.

The secluded 49ft x 33ft (15m x 10m) garden is a real bonus, it’s enclosed on all 3 sides with a tall hedge and has an apple tree in the centre. A paved area has wooded outdoor furniture – there’s even a BBQ for your use.

There are several convenience stores within 10 minutes of the house and a number of interesting restaurants a short Uber ride away.
