Old Brompton Road (Ref: OBR)
Clean, contemporary apartment in Earl’s Court.
This clean, contemporary apartment will appeal to those who appreciate a minimalist, uncluttered, spacious look. It’s on the 3rd floor (no lift) and so gets lots of natural light. The rooms are colour themed rooms and carefully selected pieces of furniture match and contrast with the overall style.
The property is in an excellent central location just 5/7 minutes walk from Earl’s Court tube station (District and Piccadilly lines) and the Earl’s Court Exhibition Centre. This is a great base from which to explore London as there are good transport links and shopping areas nearby.
The apartment sleeps 5 + a child in a double room, a twin room with two double beds and one single room. There are two bathrooms, one of which is en-suite. As the flat is on a busy road the sound of traffic can be heard but as you are three floors up it is not obtrusive and nothing out of the ordinary for a central London apartment!
On entering the apartment you are greeted by a cool spacious area (29ft3 x 18ft8, 8.9m x 5.7m) which serves as an open-plan living/dining/kitchen space.
This is a stunning room with a distinctive style – from the wooden floor to the walls and pieces of furniture, everything has been painted in cool grey tones. Modern yet comfortable, this room feels both chic and homely. The industrial-style glass coffee table contrasts with little white carved stools and a very large two-seater sofa that can comfortably seat three people.
There is a large flat-screen TV with Sky channels and wireless internet for those who want to stay connected, but no phone service.
The wooden dining table with ultra-sleek white chairs seats six and is located next to a central window which overlooks the street below. A large grey dresser makes a strong statement in the room and little green plants add a splash of colour.
The kitchen forms part of this open-plan space and overlooks a pretty church spire in the distance. This room continues the modern theme of the property and has been designed with sleek blue cabinets and cool stainless steel appliances. You will find everything you need here including a microwave, electric oven, gas hob, fridge-freezer and washing machine.
The master bedroom (15ft4 x 11ft5, 4.7m x 3.5m) is located towards the back of the apartment and features a luxurious thick woollen carpet, decorative grey chest of drawers, two bedside tables with lamps, two contemporary chairs, flat-screen TV and a fitted wardrobe. This room has a king size (6ft6 x 5ft4) bed.
The twin room (18ft5 x 15ft1, 5.6m x 4.6m) is large and spacious. There are two double beds (6ft6 x 4ft6) so it is suitable for a couple, or a couple + a child. In addition you will find modern fitted wardrobes, two large bean bags and two colourful chairs.
This room has a modern en-suite bathroom which has been designed with earthy tones and intricate tiling. There is a basin, walk-in rain shower and loo.
The second bathroom boasts a modern style with chic black slate and pale tiles forming a strong contrast – there is a basin, bath, walk-in shower, bidet and loo.
The single room (19ft x 8ft9, 5.8m x 2.7m) is at the front of the property and has a single fold-out bed and ample shelf space.
Literally on the doorstep of the property, you will find several coffee shops, a newsagent and a couple of traditional pubs. Earl’s Court tube station and the Exhibition Centre are a 5/7 minutes walk.
Two stops on the underground will take you to South Kensington which is home to the Science Museum, Natural History Museum, V&A and Royal Albert Hall. Three stops gets you to Knightsbridge, Harrods and lovely Hyde Park.
