Adams Row – Mayfair (Ref: ADM)
Perfectly located Mayfair apartment.
In the heart of Mayfair between Grosvenor Square and Berkeley Square, this is ‘the house behind The Connaught’ – one of London’s smartest hotels. This comfortable apartment is rare: an affordable option in what is London’s most expensive location, ideal for those who want to be in the smartest part of town. The apartment sleeps 4 in two double bedrooms with two bathrooms.
Your nearest tube stations are Green Park on Piccadilly (Victoria and Piccadilly lines) and Bond Street on Oxford Street (Central and Jubilee lines) – both about a 5- minute walk. You are also less than 5 minutes’ walk from Park Lane and lovely Hyde Park.
The flat belongs to a passionate cook who enjoys entertaining; its elegant furnishings and well-equipped kitchen are yours to enjoy.
The flat has its own street entrance door. A single flight of steps lead up to the flat, which is spread laterally across the first floor of two buildings. The rooms lead left and right off a short corridor.
Living space is generous: unusually for flats in Central London, there are three reception rooms. The drawing room (18ft9x14ft9, 5.7mx4.5m) is furnished with two 3 seater sofas, central coffee table, TV, drinks-cabinet, fine Chinese curved-back antique chair and several interesting objets d’art.
There’s a small breakfast room with seating for 4 between the drawing room and the kitchen, which has all the expected appliances – fridge/freezer, dishwasher, hob, 3 ovens, washer/dryer and microwave.
The kitchen gives onto an exceptional dining/ extra reception room (23ftx8ft, 7mx2.5m) with seating for 10, ideal for entertaining – the owner was having a dinner party the day we took these pictures. The dining table can also be adapted to make this a flexible entertaining or relaxing space.
The main bedroom has a double bed (4ft6, 1.4m wide) lots of storage space in built-in cupboards, 3-seater sofa and writing desk. It has its own ensuite bathroom – bath with over-shower, basin and loo.
The second bedroom also has a double bed (5ft, 1.5m wide) and, although no wardrobe space, drawers and a long wooden banquette suitable to lay out all the contents of a suitcase. The second bathroom has a bath with over-shower, basin and loo.
There’s also a small book-lined study.
Step out of the front door, and the attractions of Mayfair are at your feet. Your nearest convenience stores are at Davies St or by Berkeley Square (just a 2/3-minute walk) but if you are staying here, you’ll want to sample the delights of the food halls at Selfridges, Fortnum and Mason on Piccadilly, galleries, the Royal Academy, and (150 yards further) all the theatres, bars and night life of Soho.
For restaurants, you’re spoiled for choice, as Mayfair has some of London’s most renowned restaurants, from Michel Roux’ classic Le Gavroche to acclaimed newcomers like Kitty Fisher’s. And after indulging, restore equilibrium with a walk (or run?) in nearby Hyde Park or some serious shopping in Oxford Street and the smart boutiques of Mayfair.
