Now in its 247th year, the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition is an annual event to celebrate and showcase art of all styles and media including paintings, sculpture, photography, prints, architectural models, film and artists’ books. The exhibition prides itself on showing work by both well established artists and emerging ones and attracts a high volume of entrants annually with over 10,000 entries received in 2014.
The gallery exists to promote art and artists and opens their doors to anyone who considers themselves an artist and allows them to have their work judged by their peers. All the artists share a deep held belief in the contribution that artists make to the world.
Many of the pieces on display are for sale, and can range in price from under £100 for a limited edition print, to thousands for major oils and sculptures.
There is a choice of 3 cafes/restaurants for a mid exhibition break – The RA Grand Cafe, The Keeper’s House and the Atelier Cafe.
You can find out more about The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and buy tickets here.
The exhibition is easily reached by public transport from any of our London vacation rentals.
