22 January 2012
Welcome to our January 2012 newsletter. We've sent it to you either because you've been to our website and signed-up to receive it, or because you've previously enquired about one of our rentals, or because you've stayed with us before. If your email system is having problems displaying it properly
We send out some 4/6 newsletters a year, approximately every 2 months though it can sometimes be shorter or longer depending on what there is to tell you, covering such topics as:
interesting and unusual things to do and see in London, Paris, Rome and New York over the coming months,
new or unusual properties that have joined our listings,
tips on how to make the most of your visit to London, Paris, Rome and New York, and
special deals.
In every newsletter you have the chance to un-subscribe and we will remove you from our distribution list on request - see end of newsletter.
To prevent our newsletters going to your spam file add this to your address book:
newsletter@chsrentals.com.
Please feel free to forward this email to anyone you feel might like to know about us.
We welcome feedback about our newsletters - do let us know what you like and what you don't like:
feedback@chsrentals.com.
Remember - not only is it much nicer to stay in a rental rather than a hotel, it's often much more cost effective - especially for families and more than 2 people travelling together. Full details of our services, all our properties and how to book, together with suggested itineraries and a helpful list of things to do and see can be found on our websites.

Can you help? As our reputation grows and spreads, demand for our rentals increasingly exceeds supply. We need more properties in London, Paris, Rome and New York. If you know someone with an under-used apartment or house in these cities, who maybe would welcome the additional income we could bring them do please point them in our direction.
Warning. We regularly hear of people who have been scammed booking their vacation rental via Craigslist or one of the many listing sites. Sure - you might get a bargain, but while most ads are genuine, the sad fact remains that there are many fraudsters out there and these sites are an ideal environment for them. Play it safe and book with a reputable company. Coach House Rentals has been in business since 2001 and we have had several thousand happy, satisfied clients.
London

Their Daily Olympic Walk from 11.00am to 1.00pm starts at Bromley-by-Bow underground station (District/Hammersmith and City lines). The cost is £9 for adults and £5 per child – more details at: www.toursof2012sites.com/index.php?pageid=8.
Did you know?
(1) Windsor Castle, the largest and oldest occupied castle in the world, encapsulates 900 years of British History. You can visit the magnificent State Rooms and St Georges Chapel.
(2) Hampton Court Palace. In 1528 Cardinal Wolsey gave Hampton Court Palace to King Henry VIII in a vain attempt to appease the king, who was incensed that Wolsey could not negotiate his divorce. The palace on the River Thames is a magnificent example of Tudor architecture. You can also explore the world-famous Hampton Court maze. Paris
"I love Paris in the springtime." Spring is the classic time to visit this beautiful and glamorous city. The weather is usually warm and balmy, the air is fresh, the trees are decked in fresh green and blossom, and the flowers blooming. Fewer tourists than in the peak summer months also mean shorter lines for the "must-see" attractions such as the Louvre (the world's largest palace housing the world's largest collection of art) and the Musée D'Orsay (once a railway station now host to the electrifying works of the impressionists and post-impressionists).
Have you discovered our useful Paris information pages? 101 Things to do in Paris is a great resource not only for first timers who will find details of all the main attractions, but also for regular visitors who are sure to discover something new. Romantic Paris http://romance.chsparis.com/ is for lovers young and old and will put a twinkle in the eye of any lover - read and discover! Paris for Foodies mainly covers selected Paris food markets http://foodies.chsparis.com/ but also includes a selection of English speaking cooking classes suitable for short-stay Paris visitors.

Rome
The saying is that a lifetime is not long enough to see Rome - there is just too much to see. We have taken a few highlights of Rome and things that one should experience in order to get to know and enjoy this remarkable city. It is also a great excuse to keep returning to "the eternal city". Here is a sample of what you will find:
Castel St Angelo - Originally the tomb of the emperor Hadrian. It was erected in 130AD as a mausoleum for himself and his family. The castle later became a stronghold linked to the Vatican Palace. The building is nearly 50m high and Puccini had Tosca hurl herself to her death from the ramparts here.
Museo e Galleria Borghese - The Borghese Gallery is a famous art gallery located in the former Villa Borghese Pinciana. The art collection contained in the gallery is renowned all over Europe. Napoleon even bought a large part of the collection in 1807 and transferred it to the Louvre. After new pieces were added in the 19th century, the collection was bought by the Italian state along with the entire property.
Il Gelato di San Crispino - serves what many consider to be the best ice-cream in Rome! The secret is the makers' obsessive control over the whole process. The flavours on offer change according to what is in season. As cones would interfere with the purity of the product, only tubs are allowed. It also offers exquisite Jamaican coffee. In summer on Fridays and Saturdays it remains open until 1.30am.
You will find these, and another 98 interesting things to see and do in Rome at: 101 Things to do in Rome.
Warning. Short stay apartments in Rome get booked up very early – so act now to secure your rental.
